Chiu Yen Irina Tan was born in Cologne, Germany. She grew up in Bonn, Germany, and lived in the USA, Singapore, Indonesia, and currently Canada. Chiu Yen speaks English, German, and Indonesian. She earned her Master's Degree in Business Management from the University of Mannheim, Germany after which she built a successful career in the corporate financial world in Singapore. Chiu Yen received acting training at NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, Singapore, continuing education, instructed by John Wills Martin, and started pursuing acting and independent filmmaking. She acted in numerous short films and several feature films, including 'Love and Faith' (2015), directed by Benny Setiawan, as well 'Pai Kau' (2018) (a.k.a Game of Nine) and 'This Is Not a Love Story' (2019), directed by Sidi Saleh, which she also produced. Chiu Yen was previously credited as Irina Chiu. She is currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in Film & Television Business in Toronto, Canada.
